My wife and I decided to try a place we never ate at together before. It is a little off the regular path kinda place in Downtown Delray Beach. Olio has been there for several years, and features a really cool wine tasting room, which is great for private events. The ambiance was chic, and the server friendly.
We ordered our food (which in both of our opinions sucked) and proceeded to get the check when done. When I saw the $7.90 for two sodas I almost passed out. Just like Sosta Pizzeria in South Beach, Olio takes full advantage of their customers and charges them almost $4.00 for a tiny glass of soda. When I finished my first drink, the waiter just took the glass and refilled it. That usually implies that there are free refills, LIKE ALMOST EVERYWHERE ELSE around town.
Just take a look at the glass to see how small it was. It is obviously bigger then Sosta (which was 8.5oz) but not by much. This is a can of soda at its best, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually did pour a can into this glass. So bravo, Olio! You might have got me twice on this journey and made me pay $7.90 for two drinks, but I will never come back, and I would never recommend anyone else to go there now. Do you think charging this exorbitant price was worth it? That is your call.
In My opinion there are way better places to go in Downtown Delray Beach that do not try to rip you off for your drinks!
